Sure wasn't the normal opening day gobblefest . I heard two birds on roost and they shut up as soon as their feet hit the ground. I am sure being cloudy didn't help but give us something to work with :)

Saturday the only bird I heard gobble was the one I roosted the night before, Sunday it was him and a far off on the other side of the property. Strange opener for sure for me.

This guy gobbled but nothing like he did the day before.
He was dead by 7:20 Saturday. The DAV I took, was on his first turkey hunt ever. Pretty sure he is hooked.
This is the last 30sec of his hunt.

Definite lack of gobbling in these woods.

I've been fortunate enough to take three longbeards so far and have yet to have one gobble at me with his feet on the ground. I'm not a scoot and shoot guy, either. Weird, year. I've had one wad of gobblers that will gobble 1000 times on the limb, hit the ground, one or two will gobble and that's it for the day.
